Old Town ARTbeat is collaborating with Commffest this year to bring art and culture to raise awareness of, and engage people to act on, the issue of homelessness. Established in 2005, COMMFFEST (GLOBAL) COMMUNITY FILM FESTIVAL is a digital film festival that combines public exhibits with forums for individuals and communities to engage in a dialogue of social issues and cultural exchange through the powerful language of film in all genres. In this collaboration, we will highlight the work of the Multi Faith Alliance to End Homelessness, MFATEH, and many other groups, organizations and agencies in Toronto that are addressing this issue and engaging many people to become more aware and be engaged in the work to end homelessness.
I have been previewing some really powerful films from many places around this world and see a lot of commonalities in the way that we all approach the concept of home. Toronto is our home. Follow this link to preview the exciting film for COMMFFEST's opening event which will be at the St. Lawrence market on Thursday, September 22!
Please call if you have any questions. Thank you.
Salaam,
Tina C.
