Committee Mandates and/or Descriptions

Communications Committee

To provide technology workshops, regular review of the communications policy, oversight of Presbytery newsletter, establishment of goals and responsibilities.

Education & Students Committee

To assist in the recruitment of, and oversee the training of suitable candidates for Ministry.

Faith Formation Circle

The Faith Formation Circle seeks to nurture congregations and leaders in education and community building as we discover and share God's love.

Finance & Administration Committee

To oversee the finances of Presbytery and to assist Congregations in matters of Finance and Administration. To present a budget annually to the Governance Commission, including a recommendation on the annual Presbytery assessment.

GOVERNANCE COMMISSION

Provide leadership and direction to the administrative committees of the Presbytery and provide a forum for discussion of issues common to those committees and the congregations within the Presbytery.

Mission Support Commission

The Mission Support Committee of Northern Waters Presbytery will seek to promote the M&S Fund by educating and supporting local congregations to achieve their calling as missionaries and servants.

Open Doors Committee

To create a culture in the presbytery that nourishes congregations and engages the people in its mission.

Pastoral Oversight Committee

To offer support, encouragement and counsel to Pastoral Charges and Ministers by meeting with Members of the Order of Ministry, Ministry & Personnel Committees and representatives of Official Boards at least once every three years.

Pastoral Relations Committee

To support the Ministry Personnel & Congregations of the Presbytery, to ensure healthy ministries. To make recommendations to the PCS Commission related to the Pastoral Relationships within the Presbytery and to process the appropriate paperwork.

Peace & Justice Circle

In keeping with the call of Christ, "To love God and to love our neighbour", the Peace and Justice Circle endeavours...

1.	To bring forward and raise awareness on issues of peace and justice.
2.	To encourage action.
3.	To promote and implement Kairos initiatives.
4.	To support and collaborate with other community groups doing the work of justice.

PERSONNEL AND CONGREGATIONAL SUPPORT (PCS) COMMISSION

Provide leadership and direction to Pastoral Relations, Education & Students & Pastoral Oversight Committees, and a forum for discussion of concerns common to the training, recruitment and employment of ministry personnel.

Presbytery Chaplains

Provide emotional & spiritual support to Ministry Personnel, Congregations, and Presbyters during times of transition, upheaval, personal challenges or conflict.

Property Committee

To assist Pastoral Charges in matters of Property and Property Management. To perform the functions of the Manse Committee as described in The Manual (sec 386).
