Important Assets and Funding Update

The Assets and Funding task group held their meeting on September 12 as planned. About 50 stakeholders within the Conference attended. All nine Presbyteries, the Toronto West Presbytery Corporation, the Tri Presbytery Corporation, The Toronto United Church Council, the Cedar Glen and Mission Support committees were all represented. The full day meeting was facilitated by Ruth Sirman, a professional facilitator and mediator whose father was a United Church minister. Excellent discussion and contemplation of the options took place and the AFTG will now work on its recommendations.

On September 12 there will be an all day meeting at New Hope United Church to discuss Conference and Presbytery assets and to determine how these will be affected by the restructuring. A professional facilitator will run this meeting that will include representation from the Conference Executive, the nine, current presbyteries, the MS and Cedar Glen committees, presbytery corporations and TUCC.
