This is now the third year of this resource. The changes that have evolved reflect my own growth and education about the subject. The more I research these ministries, the more I am excited about the good news of the gospel working among us and through us.
What really becomes evident is the incredible web of global partnerships in which we participate and how these partnerships work at the grass roots in communities around the globe enabling people to help themselves.
Yes, there are always famine and floods and other disasters that scream for our support. The Mission and Service Fund does respond when and where it can. But the task of empowering people in their own communities to work for justice and equality is an ongoing job that needs our help on a daily basis. The fact is that we rarely hear about these grassroots initiatives. They don’t make the headlines, and often they challenge our understanding of our own lifestyle and our world, so it is just easier to ignore them. Except, we shouldn’t. We can’t. These ministries are indeed the power of the good news at work in our world.
I have tried to highlight stories of these partnerships and their ministries in order to lift up the stories of success and encouragement that they bring, so that we can all celebrate with them and recognize God’s blessing at work transforming the darkest corners of our world. We are blessed to be able to participate in the fulfilment of God’s blessing through the work of the Mission and Service Fund.
Yours in Christ,
Darren Liepold,
