TheNew Retirement… Are You Ready?

Recent legislation that abolished mandatory retirement is resulting in changes to how people plan for their retirement. Whether you have a few years to retirement or are already retired, the best time to start planning is now. Join us for an insightful and instructive day that will help you take charge of your life. You’ve given so much to others, now is the time to take care of you!

Who Should Attend? United Church Clergy, members of the Order of Ministry, Employees who are thinking of retiring and those who are recently retired. Spouses/Partners are welcome.

What Will I Learn?

  • Learn how to read & interpret the United Church’s annual pension statement including how pensions are calculated, implications of early and later retirement, pension options, survivor benefits etc. Understand post-retirement health benefits and the process of retiring in light of the government’s new legislation.

  • Presentations and music, practical suggestions and discussion will open up new possibilities for your retirement years. Topics include: health & wellness, spirituality, life planning, relationships, transition, and time management. Presenters: Dr. Tim Elliott, clergy, author, life/transitions coach, musician

    The Cost:
    What a deal! A minimal cost of $20/person (sponsored and subsidized by the Toronto Conference Pensions & Group Insurance Committee) includes a light breakfast, lunch and refreshment breaks.
