2009 Annual Meeting nominations for Young Youth (Gr 7-8) and Youth (Gr 9-12) are due in the Conference office mid-December. Nominators, please fill out your information form and have your young youth or youth fill in their information. Send this material to Portia Harrison, 65 Mayall Ave., Toronto M3L 1E7. Let’s fill 100 spaces with vital, engaged and passionate young people! The Design Teams are hard at work creating programs that will offer deepening of leadership and faith among Toronto Conference youth. The nomination forms are at www.torontoconference.ca/index.htm

2009 Youth Forum – 40th General Council, August 6-16, 2009 in Kelowna, B.C. Presbytery Secretaries and Presbytery CFCD Chairs have received the applications for Youth Forum. Presbyteries will be naming a person or committee to select one 2009 Youth Forum participant and one alternative for each Presbytery. (More news about whether it will be old structure or new structure – for now, it’s important to generate a pool of applicants from which to choose.) www.united-church.ca/getinvolved/events/youthforum

2009 CanLead Educational Event for people engaged in ministry with youth. Jan. 26-29, 2009 at the Lamplighter Conference Centre, London, ON. Keynote by Aiden Enns, founder of Geez magazine. 2009 Young Adult Pilgrimage to Taizé June 18-July 1, 2009. This is a Five Oaks and Kirkridge-sponsored event for young adults 18-29 yrs. to experience a full week at Taizé, some time at Cluny (12th c. Abbey) and 3 days in Paris, with a side trip to Chartres. 2009 Future Quest and Queen’s Theological College calling high school youth to explore theology, community, and leadership for two weeks in August 8-22, 2009 in Kingston. 2009 Future Quest Summer Staff Positions. Future Quest will be interviewing for summer staff positions in early March.
