My Love Colours Inside the Lines
A Review of the UCC's Sexual Abuse & Harassment Policy and Ontario Bill 168
In this workshop, we will review The United Church of Canada's Sexual Abuse and Harassment Policy paying particular attention to the 2007 amendments to the policy implementation process. We will also explore the implications of Ontario Bill 168, An Act to amend the Occupational Health and Safety Act with respect to violence and harassment in the workplace and other matters. Please note that, in most cases, ministry personnel are subject to but not protected by the UCC's Sexual Abuse and Harassment Policy. Bill 168 will deal with this imbalance and may provide a remedy to this imbalance. In our litigious environment it is imperative to understand these policies.
